MGOC Contributor News: Cover for Greenshift by Heidi Ruby Miller

To celebrate the cover reveal for Greenshift, the e-book will be temporarily 99 cents at Amazon!

A tale set within the world of Ambasadora.

Mari's rare eye color makes her a pariah within Upper Caste society, which is why she prefers plants to people...except David, the former Armadan captain who shuttles scientists around on a refurbished pleasure cruiser.

But someone else is interested in Mari and her distinctive look--an obsessed psychopath who tortures and murders women for pleasure.

When the killer chooses Mari as his next victim, the soldier inside David comes alive, but it is Mari who must fight for her own life and prove she isn't as fragile as the flowers she nurtures.

MGOC Contributor News: Cover for The Revelations of Preston Black by Jason Jack Miller

THE REVELATIONS OF PRESTON BLACK BY JASON JACK MILLER

Coming June 2013 from Raw Dog Screaming Press

Cover Art by Brad Vetter

Preston and Katy face a new darkness....

Sometimes a battle between good and evil doesn't look much like the ones they show in movies. The good guys don't always wear white, and they don’t always walk away with the win.

And sometimes you're better off with the devil you know.

The last time Preston went down to the crossroads, his best friend died and he nearly lost his brother. But Old Scratch doesn't take kindly to fools, especially not those who come knocking at his front door. And before all is said and done, he's going to teach Preston a thing or two about what it really means to sacrifice.

MGOC Contributor Event: Heidi Ruby Miller, Jason Jack Miller, and Timons Esaias at 2013 Pennwriters

Many Genres One Craft editor Heidi Ruby Miller is honored to be an editor guest at the 2013 Pennwriters Conference at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott May 17 - 19.

If you've been waiting to submit your Science Fiction Adventure novel to Dog Star Books, Heidi will be taking pitches on Friday afternoon. Raw Dog Screaming Press will also be represented by Jennifer Barnes and John Edward Lawson at Pennwriters. Jennifer will be listening to pitches for RDSP's non-fiction imprint, Guide Dog Books, as well as appropriate fiction for the main line. John is interested in poetry collections and works of horror and dark fiction.

As many of you know, RDSP, by necessity, has a closed submissions policy for all its imprints, but the editors are happy to hear about your potential projects face-to-face at any of our literary events.

Heidi is also presenting a workshop on Sunday titled "50 Ways to Beat Writer's Block."

MGOC contributors Jason Jack Miller and Timons Esaias will also be author guests and will present workshops on Sunday.

The Fridge of the Damned!

Many Genres co-editor Michael Arnzen reports a successful kickstarter campaign (that doubled its goal) for The Fridge of the Damned: a quirky horror poetry magnet kit that draws words directly from his book The Gorelets Omnibus. Magnets have been distributed to all backers, and you can read the strange-yet-fun results in the active online gallery.

While supplies last, Raw Dog Screaming Press is selling remaining magnetic tins for just $12.

One of the many incentives for the kickstarter is a new ebook from Arnzen, called Instigation: Creative Prompts on the Dark Side, which genre writers might want to look into. It should be released from Mastication Publications, on March 15th.

Our Encore Signing

Our encore signing at Seton Hill University in June 2012 was another success, and several readers took advantage of the one-of-a-kind opportunity to get their hardcover copies signed by the fount of contributors on hand. Headlines Books provided quite a spread of books to sell. Photos have been posted at Mike Arnzen's website and the Raw Dog Screaming Press page.

After the signing, we learned that Many Genres won another publishing award: this time, a Silver Medal in the 2011 Book of the Year Awards sponsored by ForeWord reviews. It's amazing how many awards this book has had the honor to receive. We're proud of all the great work that the contributors and Headline Books put into this book to make it such a raving success this first year in print. -- Mike & Heidi
